Potatoes – The “Fullness Rank”

Potatoes – The “Fullness Rank”

Did you know that potatoes play a key component in weight control? This is because they help you feel fuller for longer after eating them! This makes people less likely to indulge in snacks between meals. One baked potato had a Satiety Index, what we like to call “Fullness Rating”, of 323. Keep in mind that the higher the number, the more “full” you feel after eating. White rice, pasta and white bread only have scores of 138, 119, and 100 respectively. The Fullness Rating of these foods is affected by the foods content of water, fiber and protein, all of which are very abundant in potatoes.

If you are looking to eat less between meals, have a baked potato for lunch or dinner with minimal sour cream and butter so you can keep it healthy!
