Hi
The last bag of potatoes I bought were bright green inside, not yellow. Almost like they were picked too early.

Hi Debra,
I am sorry that happened to you, but it sounds like those potatoes had serious light damage. When potatoes are exposed to light, especially fluorescent light, they turn green and will taste bitter at best, but can also make you sick. Potatoes are never green in the field. When you pick potatoes at the store, make sure they don’t have any green tint. If there are small portions, you can cut those away and use the rest. If you send me you address, I would like to send you a coupon for a free replacement bag.

Thanks,

Where can I find the actual nutrtion of the golden potatoes? Not a general sheet about potatoes.

I purchased a bag of baby golds. With the gold mesh over the plastic I could not tell that most of them were already starting to get wrinkly. I had to throw away more than half of the bag. Who can I email to get a coupon or refund?

Hi Leslie,

I am sorry to hear about the disappointing purchase. I will forward to the right person.

Delicious but don’t see the expired date and can’t see any prints, consumers like to know clearly.

Hi Kamat,

Potatoes do not have an expiration date as it can vary greatly based on the way you store them. In perfect conditions, like around 50 degrees, potatoes can hold up many weeks. Then again if they are stored in a warm kitchen under the light, they might just last a week or two. The other reason is that any potential damage will be visible, but they may still be usable. Green areas (caused by light) should be cut away generously, sprouts can be clipped or cut off – the rest of the potato is still usable.
It also depends on the variety and how they survived the storage, that’s why we closely monitor the quality while we are packing them as well as every load that is shipped to the stores.

hope this helped,

Bought two of your baby gold bags. Sadly some wrinkled was hard to see in the bag but the rest were delicious 👍

Thanks for your comment – We have just switched to new crop potatoes, the freshest of the season.
You probably, got the last of our storage crop, and yes they may not look perfect – the taste and flavor should not have been affected.

Thanks for being a MountainKing customer – if you send me your mailing address, I would love to send you two coupons for a free bag.

Hi! Should the baby golds be washed before cooking? Thank you.

Yes, unless they are packed in one of those microwave bags, I recommend to wash any potato you buy.

Best regards,

Andreas
